About the ThemeMate Auto Backup
ThemeMate Auto Backup helps you protect your Shopify theme by creating snapshots before making design changes, installing apps, or updating for seasonal campaigns. Set up manual or scheduled backups that run hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly based on your needs. You can pause or run backup plans whenever required.
Compare snapshots to identify which theme files were added, changed, or removed between versions. Download complete theme ZIP archives directly from your Shopify Admin and review backup status, file counts, and activity logs to confirm everything completed successfully.
When you need to restore a previous version, upload the ZIP file as an unpublished theme, preview it to make sure everything looks right, then publish when ready. The app backs up theme files and settings only—products, orders, and customer data are not included in backups.
