About the Shield: Checkout Bot Blocker

Shield protects your Shopify store from checkout bots and fraud before orders are placed. The app uses a checkout rule to block automated browsers and repeat offenders from completing checkout, including accelerated checkouts like Shop Pay and Apple Pay. Every order receives a fraud risk score from 0 to 100 based on velocity patterns, device reuse, checkout speed, customer data, and bot signals. The score includes clear, human-readable reasons displayed directly on the order page so you understand exactly why an order was flagged. Shield automatically links orders from the same device, IP address, or shipping address even when customers use different email addresses. Risky orders are held automatically to prevent fulfillment until you review them, with optional cancel and refund features available. The app requires no theme code changes and works seamlessly with all checkout types. Customer identifiers are stored only as hashes for privacy protection. Shield gives you complete control over bot blocking and fraud prevention without disrupting legitimate customers.
