About the Option Guard: Product Options

Option Guard adds product customization options to your store that stay reliable through theme updates. The app uses a theme app extension to display colour swatches, text fields, dropdowns, buttons, and tick boxes on your product pages. Create swatches using hex codes or your own product photos for colours, sizes, and materials. Required options are enforced at checkout through Shopify functions running on Shopify's servers, covering Shop Pay and Apple Pay. The system fails open during outages so sales are never blocked. Every order gets audited automatically—if an order arrives without a required value, the app alerts you and links directly to it. Options include text fields, date pickers, tick boxes, dropdowns, buttons, and image swatches built from your product photos.
