About the Prepaid Credits
Prepaid Credits allows merchants to sell credit packs as standard products in their Shopify store. Customers can purchase credits and redeem them automatically at checkout without needing coupon codes or manual adjustments.
When shoppers add redeemable items to their cart, their prepaid credits apply as an automatic discount that covers the full item price. The app uses FIFO expiration, meaning the oldest credits get used first, and you can set configurable expiry dates.
Organize products into credit groups to update credit values for multiple items at once. Rate locking protects existing customers by keeping them on their original credit rates even when you raise prices for new buyers.
All customer balances and transaction history are stored in your store's metafields, so there's no external database to manage. The system is refund-safe—if you cancel or refund an order, credits automatically sync back to the customer's account.
