About the Payment Plans (By PreProduct)

Payment Plans lets Shopify Plus merchants offer installment payments without third-party BNPL providers. Customers can pay for in-stock products over time using merchant-defined payment schedules they choose at checkout. The app charges the first installment at checkout, then automatically charges remaining installments using cards vaulted with Shopify. Orders stay on hold until fully paid, working like a traditional lay-by system. For merchants selling big-ticket equipment or items under contract, there's an option to release orders immediately while continuing to collect installments. Features include automatic payment retries for failed charges, flexible scheduling where customers select how many weeks or months to pay over, and the ability to charge installments on fixed days each month. Everything happens through a single checkout experience with vaulted cards handling automatic charges.
