About the MakeStock

MakeStock tracks raw materials and ingredients that go into your products—something Shopify doesn't handle natively. Add materials like wax, oils, findings, or paper with their unit type, cost, current stock, and low-stock threshold. Then create a bill of materials for each product variant showing exactly what one unit requires. When customers place paid orders, MakeStock automatically deducts the materials used. If orders get cancelled or refunded with restocking, the materials go back into inventory. Every change is logged so you have a complete audit trail. The "Can I make it?" feature shows how many units you can produce with current stock levels and identifies which material is the limiting factor. You'll get low-material alerts before you run out, can push material costs to Shopify's cost per item field, and import or export data via CSV. Copy bills of materials between variants to save time on similar products.

Launched: October 7, 2026
