About the ExemptGuard Resale Certificate
ExemptGuard helps you collect and manage resale certificates from wholesale buyers while keeping your tax-exempt sales compliant. The app adds an upload form directly to your storefront, letting buyers submit their certificates themselves. You can confirm each certificate's state, number, and expiry date in one central register.
The system automatically checks certificates against state requirements, including multi-state MTC and SSUTA forms. Invalid certificates, wrong-state submissions, and expired documents are flagged on your dashboard. You'll see a complete history of every upload, approval, and change.
Once you approve a certificate, you can set the linked customer as tax-exempt in Shopify. Download your certificate register as a print page, CSV, or JSON whenever you need it. Keep valid certificates on file and stay on top of expiring ones with automated tracking.
