About the Declara: EU AI Act Labels
Declara helps you comply with the EU AI Act by adding disclosure labels to AI-generated or AI-altered product images in your Shopify store. Mark which images need labels and the app displays a clear AI disclosure wherever those images appear—on product pages, collection grids, and image zoom views.
You stay in control: choose which product images to label individually or mark entire collections at once. The app doesn't guess—you decide what gets disclosed. Customize the label's shape, size, font, colors, opacity, corner position and spacing directly in your theme editor to match your store's style. Alternatively, use the official EU AI icon published by the European Commission, available in black, white or transparent versions.
The app works seamlessly with no extra page requests and automatically keeps a dated record of every image you've marked or unmarked for your compliance documentation.
