About the Benetti Age Gate
This age verification app displays a native browser dialog on your Shopify storefront to confirm visitor age before they can shop. You can choose between a simple yes/no confirmation or a date-of-birth check with minimum age requirements from 18 to 25 years old.
The app remembers verified visitors using a first-party cookie for anywhere from 1 to 365 days, so they won't see the age gate dialog again during that period. It uses the browser's native dialog element through a theme app extension, which means no code gets added to your cart or checkout buttons, and nothing loads from third-party sources.
Visitors who click exit or enter an underage date of birth are redirected to a URL you specify. The app checks the redirect URL before sending them there. Dialog text comes ready in six languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Dutch.
