About the Checkout Address Validator JP
This app checks Japanese addresses written in Latin letters against official Japan Post data during checkout. It helps stores outside Japan shipping to Japanese customers avoid delivery errors from typos in prefecture, city, town, or house number fields.
The address validator flags mismatches between postal codes and location names, blocks submissions missing house numbers, and prevents kanji or kana characters that cause problems on international shipping labels. It accepts common spelling variations like Shinbashi/Shimbashi and Shibuya-ku/City.
Error messages appear directly under address fields in English and Japanese, showing customers the expected values so they can fix mistakes before completing their order. Messages are editable in the app settings.
Works on every Shopify plan without requiring Shopify Plus. No customer data is stored on external servers.
