This app gives new customers an automatic welcome discount on their first purchase at checkout - no discount code needed. It works by checking if logged-in customers have zero previous orders in their account. Those with no order history get the discount, while returning customers don't. You can set up a percentage or fixed amount off, add free shipping, and require a minimum subtotal. There's also an option to exclude sale items or specific collections from the discount. Since Shopify only shares order count for logged-in customers, guest shoppers won't receive the first order discount by default. However, you can enable a setting to extend it to all guests too, though this means returning guests who don't log in could use it multiple times. The app includes an optional store banner that prompts visitors to log in or create an account to claim their welcome discount.
