About the Revatly
Revatly automatically captures validated VAT IDs from checkout and saves them to order and customer metafields, so your invoice app can print them on B2B invoices without manual editing.
When EU B2B customers check out with a valid VAT ID, Shopify validates it and applies VAT exemption. However, the validated VAT ID remains as plain text in the order timeline where invoice apps can't access it. This means you have to manually edit every B2B invoice.
Revatly solves this by writing the validated VAT ID to structured metafields on both the order and customer records. Your invoice app can then read these metafields via Liquid and automatically print them on invoices. Works with Sufio, Order Printer Pro, Oblio, SmartBill, and other invoice apps.
The app uses Shopify's native checkout VAT validation and requires Shopify Tax with at least one EU country tax registration enabled. No third-party validation needed.
