VAT & Company Data by Nordic enriches B2B customer records with official company data from business registers, including legal name, registry status, and industry classification. The app validates VAT numbers in real-time against VIES for 27 EU countries and HMRC for the UK, covering 29 countries total.
Unlike native checkout that only handles cross-border VAT exemption, this app exempts qualifying B2B customers from VAT for both domestic and cross-border transactions. Customers are automatically segmented into b2b-verified and b2b-review groups, routing risky accounts for manual review.
Verified VAT numbers and company data are written to metafields, making them ready for invoicing and PEPPOL integration. The app goes beyond basic VIES lookup by pulling comprehensive business registry information to validate and enrich every B2B customer account.
