Featherweight compresses images, generates ALT text, and cleans up filenames automatically. Most Shopify stores have unoptimized product photos that slow down mobile pages. This app fixes that problem with one click. Open Featherweight and click Optimise to compress every image using mozjpeg and palette quantization. Images are resized to a 2048px maximum with EXIF metadata stripped. Files are replaced in place, keeping the same URLs and product links so everything across your store continues working. The app also handles SEO details that search engines and screen readers need. Generate ALT text from product details using templates, and rename image files based on product names. New product images can be compressed automatically, so your store stays optimized without manual work.
