About the LabelAI – AI Image Disclosure
LabelAI helps EU merchants comply with the EU AI Act by automatically finding and labeling AI-generated images in their Shopify store. Starting August 2, 2026, the EU AI Act Article 50 requires visible disclosure of photorealistic AI-generated images.
The app scans your product images and file images for AI generation signs, including content-credential metadata, AI-tool filename patterns, and alt-text hints. You can review flagged images with confidence indicators, then confirm or edit labels yourself.
Once you enable the feature in your theme editor, a small AI-generated badge appears automatically on labeled images across your storefront. No theme code needed – just one-time setup and you're compliant.
