About the Kōkua — Accessibility Scanner

Kōkua scans your live Shopify storefront for WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility issues using the axe-core engine. It detects problems like missing alt text, low contrast, unlabeled forms, and broken heading order. Each issue comes with a specific theme-level fix you can apply directly to your Liquid theme—no overlay widgets, no automatic edits. The app is completely read-only and honest about what it can find: machine-detectable accessibility issues, not everything. You'll get findings prioritized by real shopper impact, plus automatic monitoring with weekly or daily re-scans and email alerts. Kōkua also generates an EAA-ready accessibility statement you can publish on your store. It never claims to make you compliant or certified, just helps you identify and fix accessibility problems in your storefront.
