A storefront popup collects the necessary HMRC declaration from shoppers. Once approved, eligible customers receive a tagged account and see zero-rated prices on qualifying products. The VAT relief badge displays automatically for these customers, while standard VAT applies to everyone else.
The app works seamlessly at checkout—eligible products are automatically zero-rated for tagged customers only. Orders can include both qualifying and non-qualifying items without manual intervention. Non-eligible customers and products remain unaffected throughout the process.
For compliance, the app exports a complete VAT relief order register to maintain proper HMRC records. This makes it simple to manage disability VAT relief while staying compliant with UK tax regulations.
